BRST is a go

The newly formed Blackburn Rovers Supporters Trust would like to thank all fans that attended the meeting last Wednesday evening and voted unanimously for BRST to be created.

For all who couldn’t make it, the Trust was unanimously approved by all who turned out for the meeting and work can now begin on officially registering and moving on to the next stage.

We would ask all those interested in the Trust to now have a bit of patience as the working group who have been involved in setting up BRST now have to get together next week to get everything finalised and ensure everything is done properly before we begin recruiting members.

If you are interested in being involved at any level, from simply being a member (and ALL members will have a say on ALL issues raised by the Trust and its membership) to the committee and even chairman, please email your name, address, phone number, email address and special skills you think could be useful to the Trust to brst@hotmail.co.uk

YOUR club. YOUR say. COYB.

Let’s get this show on the road

The meeting to decide on the proposed Blackburn Rovers Supporters Trust takes place on Wednesday.

Starting at 7:30pm at Blakeys Cafe Bar in Blackburn town centre (doors open from 6:30pm), the meeting will include words from a representative of Supporters Direct, the chairman of Newcastle United Supporters Trust -  who will talk about his own trust’s experiences and achievements – and Duncan Miller, of the proposed BRST, will explain what the trust is all about.

Also in attendance will be Rheagan Hendry, daughter of Rovers legend Colin Hendry, who will talk about the Denise Hendry Foundation. There will also be a raffle and auction to raise funds for the foundation, with some tremendous items on offer, including tickets to sporting events and autographed Rovers memorabilia.

At the end of the meeting, attendees will be invited to ask questions and then take part in a vote to decide whether to officially set up the trust, and a talk on what happens next will follow.

The bar will remain open throughout, with a view to the evening being finished by about 10pm.

Remember, this is YOUR club. Take the chance to have YOUR say. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday. COYB.

Grab a piece of history

Signed photographs, personalised signed shirts and tickets to sporting events are just a few of the great items you could take home next Wednesday.

As part of a public meeting to discuss setting up Blackburn Rovers Supporters Trust, a raffle and auction of various memorabilia and other items will take place to raise funds for the Denise Hendry Foundation, set up in memory of Rovers legend Colin Hendry’s late wife.

Denise suffered after a liposuction operation went horribly wrong, and died seven years later from meningitis. Her doctor, Gustaf Aniansson, is still practising in Sweden.

The foundation aims to help those who suffer at the hands of medical negligence.

Colin’s daughter, Rheagan, will be present at Wednesday’s meeting to talk about the work of the foundation, set to be launched officially on July 10.

The public meeting takes place at Blakey’s Cafe Bar at King George’s Hall, Blackburn town centre, on Wednesday, beginning at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. All are welcome and the bar will be open for refreshments.

As part of the public meeting on May 11, we are raising funds for the Denise Hendry Foundation through a memorabilia auction/raffle.

The exact details are yet to be decided, but we need prizes. We already have a few bits, but could do with more.

Any donations you have would be most welcome.

If you can help out in any way, please email us at brst@hotmail.co.uk

The meeting takes place on Wednesday, May 11, at Blakey’s bar in Blackburn town centre. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start. Refreshments available at the bar.

This is NOT an anti-Venky’s pressure group

As previously stated, the proposed Blackburn Rovers Supporters Trust will not merely be a vehicle of negativity aimed at removing the current owners.

The trust, if approved at the public meeting, is intended to work with the club to improve supporter involvement and communication with it.

Many believe the trust is being started by a group of Venky’s bashers who want to start a revolution. This is not the case.

This is YOUR chance to have a say at YOUR club.

We hope to see you on May 11 where we can explain how you can be involved in the future of Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
